Phishing

This is the name given to the use of bogus emails or fraudulent websites which are designed to trick you into divulging personal financial information such as passwords, account numbers and usernames. The fraudster can then use this information to remove money from your account.

If you receive an Email, this does not mean that Arendee Consulting has divulged your information, or that your have been targeted. The phishers will speculatively send out these Emails to a wide range of recipients, of which a small percentage will be Arendee Consulting customers.

How to Report a Phishing attempt

If you encounter or believe that you have been the victim of ‘phishing’, do not open the email or any attachments and forward directly to phishing@arendeeco.com

Arendee Consulting will never send you an Email that asks you to enter your personal details.

What to look out for

Unusual ‘from’ address
Unexpected attachment, particularly those ending in; htm, html, exe, php, or another uncommon file extension.
Unusual signature, eg ‘Arendee Consulting Online Banking’
Subject line or content not in keeping with our normal vocabulary, in particular look out for misspelt words or incorrect grammar
A different font or colour scheme

How we protect you

We use an Anti-Phishing company, who have relationships with website hosting providers throughout the world so they are able to get the websites shut down as soon as possible.
Our Financial Crime Prevention department monitor for financial crime and unusual activity in a variety of ways to prevent this type of fraudulent money movement.
